For the 7th installment we welcome Ukrainian producer Lenzyak, with an EP full of dreamy and progressive digressions, that drives us from the deepest atmospheres to the brightest vibe supported by a blend of breaky, trancey and techno grooves.
M.E.R. proudly presents MER007 : Santiago Uribe - The Death of Cool EP.Santiago is back to his collective’s label catalog with a dancefloor-oriented production crafted with his characteristic clean and neat sound.Side A fills with two techno tracks. A1 stands out for its playful acid basslines and a classic drumming groove. A2 highlights with bright and sharp drum plates, round fat bass and smooth synths : a proper dancefloor piece. For B side Santiago presents two tracks: B1 full of deep and grooving sound with an effective interaction between drumming elements. Closing the EP, B2 features a down-to-earth sound landscape, resembling a sort of ritual music that builds up a sticky, dark and hypnotic atmosphere.
Another gem by Francesco, this time embellished by the remixes of a very fresh Alex Neri and completed by a Miki full of pathos!!
The mastermind behind long-running Inner Sunset Recordings out of San Francisco and the elusive Imperial Pressings has once again resurfaced, and resurfaced with ferocity! Inaugurating the all-new imprint PDG Discs, Homero G.’s “March of the Mighty Club Heroes” is a superbly crafted 4-track E.P. that hearkens back to the days of old, when music had unforgettable stories to tell and partying went hand in hand with making memories that lasted a lifetime.Blast off into outer space with A1, “Red Planet”. The bassline rumbles and the breaks roll with an intensity that propels you forward in a swirl of intergalactic pads. Track A2, “Rusty Robofriend”, is awesomely twinkly, grindy, happy-go-lucky breakbeat jam that your grandfather’s childhood toy robots secretly dance to when nobody is looking. B1’s “Triple Tab Fantasy” is a perky, skippy, stabby, organ-filled breakbeat delight that joyfully progresses with bursts of refreshing positivity around each and every corner. And B2, “March of the Mighty Club Heroes”, is a deep and rainy piano-adorned, break-laced anthem that gives a beautifully sentimental and heartfelt nod to all the true heads out there who will let absolutely nothing stand in their way of going to the club. Not even bad weather.A fantastic record that’s 100% built for true connoisseurs of dance music, old-schoolers and all-around music lovers alike, “March of the Mighty Club Heroes” possesses a level of detail and emotion-filled storytelling that is rarely witnessed in electronic music these days.Once again Homero G. delivers, and delivery massively. He’s notorious for not repressing prior releases, regardless of how sought after they may be later on, so grab your copy now. Because when it’s gone, it’s very likely gone for good.
After recent resurrection from the early 90s on labels Mirror Zone, Animals on Psychedelics and Klasse Wrecks, Memphis returns with the Essences EP brought to you from timezones past and present.Staring at the eye peering from the centre of Side A you’ll find yourself aboard an Obsidian Submarine roaming through an alien world’s vast oceans battered by clanking synths, drenched by foaming acid and awash in tense pads.Coming ashore the buzzing tribal rhythms and floating ambience of Essences provide an immersive hyper-real landscape to consider the fundamentals of where we’ve been and what we’ve seen.Moving over to Side B, where the eye seems to have melted into a distant nebula, On Stranger Tides conjures a liana-covered lost temple built from ancient rock kickdrums and bone-dry hihats permeated with stuttering chants and a plaintive call into the night. Finally we head back to 1994 to rediscover an old prog house gem dug up from the Beneath a Different Sun EP, omitted due to time constraints from the Mirror Zone 2018 re-release, and now given a chance to breathe again. Thanks to Jeremy Hegge for his beautiful field recordings and Snoozy of Rat Face Records for all his sonic guidance.

Mind Dance’s first release of the year, ‘Furious Frank – Wavepool', offers up four emotive, yet unique, club cuts. Including a proggy remix of the A1 by NZ’s own Eden Burns, which skillfully weaves between energetic perc build ups, catchy vocal synths and indulgent chords.
Esteemed proponent of outré dancefloor manoeuvres, Superconscious Records co-founder Fantastic Man makes his Kalahari debut proper. Having shown up for rework duties on a couple of occasions, we find the mutable oddball at his most trippy and esoteric. In fact, OYSTER42 is the handiwork of a producer who has his formula of balmy, lysergic dance music down to an exact science. ‘Alltogethernow’ gets on a swaggering cosmic tip, all sub-loaded and celestial as levitational arpeggios and funked-up groove dovetail to mesmeric effect. ‘Alpha’, on the other hand, takes a vision quest through enchanted jungle terrain. Initiating with a hypnotic ritual chant, it’s tunnelling and murkily psychedelic; occulted dancefloor rapture tailor-made for the wormhole interior. As if it were some artefact from a distant ‘90s utopia, Bioxy’ recalls a time when warehouse parties littered the Melbourne landscape. Where its predecessor evokes ceremony and ritual, this is an anachronistic, dilated flashback to simpler times. FM kicks it languid and life-affirming on the closing number. Radiant synth lines flutter with a gentle headiness as ‘Trojan Force’ takes us full circle with a reprise of the rainforest FX.
Ukrainian producer and DJ Sider returns to the catalog with another ethno-techno filled four tracker! The release contains tracks that were written while traveling the world. Inspired by his favourite places- Indonesia and Sri Lanka, these tracks contain live field recordings from his travels beautifully blending techno, trance, drum & bass, amdient, electro and breaks!Halted by the travesty of war, traveling through sound has become more essential than ever. This beautiful EP represents the strong artistic culture of the many Ukrainians that are no longer able to travel physically around the world but continue to traverse soundscapes, continuing to dream and create.
The second strike of Leipzig’s new electro offshoot sets Friedrich Ernst on the offensive. With these four new tracks he progressed his sound signature from a playful but reflected 8bit world soundtrack on SELF001 to a firm and gritty b-boy attitude. With SELF002 the do-it-yourself label team of DJ Unisex and Friedrich Ernst back up nothing less than their label mission: "We believe in the human mind as a self-learning system" – and it has the basement dance in the eye. Classic electro otakus will parté about the succinct elements that fits each other seamlessly on Class Beat while the groove remains alert and phantasmagoric. Back 2 The Ol_ Skool invites two breakdance crews to battle out who owns the floor: the pale electro robot boys on the left and the hoover sound loving UK hardcore girls on the right. Wildstyle is the living proof that a tight 808 groove still smashes especially hard when complimented with a proper breakbeat. Best played loud and from vinyl. The last bit of the whole enchilada is almost tranquilizing until you realise how far your stone rolled already. Rhythm Control is a crowd pleaser with endless qualities. Collaboration partner Dominik Widmann delivers the stunning artwork again for their ongoing conceptual series with his acrylic paintings. Included as A2 inlay print in every record.
Terrazzo is a new VA label formed by Northern Irish selector Holly Lester (Duality Trax) and prolific label entrepreneur/producer Steffan Todorović (Gestalt Records/Coymix/Hidden Assets/Abdul Raeva). The label’s debut EP journeys through a variety of club sounds with Dylan Forbes, Eric OS, Anderson and underground heavyweight Harrison BDP rolling out 4 cuts of euphoria-inducing prog, broken beat-infused tech, heady minimal and contemporary Detroit techno.
Once more we’ve balanced old and new school producers into a limited 150 copies 12"….Thrilled to have legendary Shaka opening the EP, followed by Barcelona’s esteemed producers Jorge Gamarra and D-Ufo under their JGRE moniker, rising South Italy's machines overlord Filippo Bologna and to close it all another producer who needs no introduction, Tommy Vicar Jnr.
Another stellar release of tripped out dubby acid excursions by Projective Vision on the ever so tasteful Transmigration label.Projective Vision open their archive for more tripping acid techno goodness. Originally released on Holistic Recordings in 1994, Close Encounter was the duo’s first record together, quickly becoming a favorite at legendary clubs like Frankfurt’s The Omen.

Now faithfully restored and remastered for modern club use.
Magnonic Signal head honcho Antonio Velazquez aka Spin Fidelity, known from his top notch releases on Subwax Excursions and Parang recordings, is present on the fourth outing on Brussels imprint Nightflight Records. This EP reflects the label’s spirit where there are no musical boundaries and hi-tech funk is the main ingredient of every track. On the A-side we have two techno soul stompers, “Photon” and “Ancient love”, with rolling basslines, some acid and deep pads that will draw you straight to the dancefloor. On the flip we get two deep electro-funk tracks, “There must be a way” and “Magnonic transmission”, with a Detroit touch on a deep futuristic trip.
Four killer tracks of high grade electronic soul from James Baker AKA REKAB. A fantastic EP showing both breadth of style and respect for the roots and traditions of the music from this artist. The first, Locked on Dodge, is a driving deep Detroit techno track with a hypnotic arpeggiated lead and filtered atmospherics to lose yourself inside. Don’t get too comfortable though, it’s capped with a surprise electro switch in the breakdown to keep the floor on their toes! The second track, We Need to Care, delivers a cool clear synth sound design over Chicago influenced house tempo beats and lush pads. Simultaneously groovy and comforting, this is a track for those special moments. Jacking with your eyes closed and a big grin on your face.Third we have a clear tribute to Drexciya with In Search of the Deep Sea Dweller. Tough 808 beats and laser zaps punch through a bed of evocative strings whilst a filtered single note loop rises and falls like the tide. An abstract robotic voice presides over the track, adding atmosphere whilst giving it a sense of mysterious machine driven intelligence.Lastly, Too Much Time gets its space boogie on. Electro funk beats jump round staccato synth chords and a simple but effective Moog-like bass line. Once the scene is set, a writhing 303 joins the proceedings accompanied soaring pads and beautiful melodic leads that make you feel like you’re being lifted into the cosmos.

Picking up where Triform left off, the prodigiously talented Matthias turns in one of his most impressive works to date with a four track EP showcasing the breadth of his sound. The mercurial Placid is one of his most original works. An intricate journey that builds to the orchestral backdrop being shattered by a bold acidic lead. While the title track is a headier affair, Liturgic Acid Year is aimed squarely at the dancefloor; a rolling acid groove awash with lush pads punctuated by jittery percussive fills. On the B side, the otherworldly Enon takes things into darker territory; with sophisticated arps materializing over a metronomic bassline. Finally, the unique Omega Doom makes up the EP. A study in contrast, it sees 90’s stabs and frenetic toms juxtaposed against apocalyptic strings - giving the track a distinct prog sensibility.

A 4 track 12 inch EP, 4 completely different sounds, each one written with a different process. These tracks do not converge towards a single musical style, but each one has its own taste and goes through its own sonic evolution. A tangle of sounds that looks at itself, without time, without space, without wanting to be or look like something that already exists.
