Two Right Wrongans - System Error | Neotropiq (NtQ001)

In the early hours of one morning in 1996, Asad Rizvi (aka Silverlining) and Wiggle’s Nathan Coles found themselves marooned on the planet Wrong. They had crossed paths at many of the infamous raves that shaped London’s underground house sound, and opted to take controls at the cockpit of a Brixton studio that, in a single night, yielded ‘System Error’. The two Right Wrongans were hence born.

Their first release, ‘Not Quite Right EP’, rocked dance-floors from San Francisco to Tokyo in a short space of time. ‘System Error’ was further celebrated on Danny Tenaglia’s legendary ‘Athens’ CD. Interest has again been sparked by numerous DJs such as Petre Inspirescu and Ricardo Villalobos playing the track at gigs around Europe during the Summer of 2018. Yet, prices have inflated way beyond accessibility to mortal buyers, and hence this reissue has been chosen to inaugurate a brand new imprinted called Neotropiq. The single has been backed by the devastatingly groovy ‘Straight Ahead Then Take the Next Wrong’. Order with haste, as this one is going to go!

Instead they straddle the Edge of Innocence. Residue of lines once written, now your own personal tightrope. You wobble to and fro as part of a troupe of ethereal jesters, composed of Lil’ Drummer Boi’s pitter pattering on Gravity Bongo’s. Sonically every hard knock is met with a “bOinKK!!”, illuminating the dark yet cartoonish nature of the practice - guaranteed to make u skip, achieve the perfect sly pout. You and your gang can terraform into bodacious bass-bins, and cast your personal Redemption Arc onto the ether. Inhibitions are to be absolved, and fat kickdrums to be followed. In this hyper-informed yet unknowing present tense, who can ignore the beat based intrinsic incentive to fuck up the circadian rhythm - the music becoming a byte-based silkworm, spinning its digital silk from synapse to synapse, until your brain is a translucent cocoon playfully ricocheting, the cranium its pleasure dome. Magnonic Signal head honcho Antonio Velazquez aka Spin Fidelity, known from his top notch releases on Subwax Excursions and Parang recordings, is present on the fourth outing on Brussels imprint Nightflight Records. This EP reflects the label’s spirit where there are no musical boundaries and hi-tech funk is the main ingredient of every track. On the A-side we have two techno soul stompers, “Photon” and “Ancient love”, with rolling basslines, some acid and deep pads that will draw you straight to the dancefloor. On the flip we get two deep electro-funk tracks, “There must be a way” and “Magnonic transmission”, with a Detroit touch on a deep futuristic trip.
