Dolphin's Dance EP Rambal Cochet Alzaya Records - ALZ05

Celebrating the interconnected strands of head-tripping hypnotic sounds, new age electronica and early/late 90s progressive house/trance, Rambal Cochet arrives on this EP, built to elevate the dance floors.

Since emerging in the scene, Rambal Cochet has ably demonstrated his instinct for different approaches, whether exploring expansive sonic palettes or holding down stages where he has performed. Throughout his career, this DJ, producer and versatil music curator, turned his capable hand into a truly immersive listening experience.

Dolphin’s Dance is an uplifting music journey, with a flavour of the good old prog sound and a dreamy atmosphere. The narrative flow in Twisted Reality and Virtual Nightmare use contrasting ecosystems to glide through distinctive spaces, unfolding with darker vibes infused with style sounds, as in Yello’s 90’s album “Pocket Universe”. At times the effect is nostalgic, calling to mind pulsating rhythms, bass lines and hypnotic melodies.

Rambal Cochet shows again an exceptional talent for producing high-level dance music. An exquisite—3 rhythmic and stimulating club jams to be savoured and absorbed in ALZ05.

Six years, fifty releases, countless artists and multiple subsidiaries; the Oyster Cult’s reach extends far beyond what sceptics once thought possible. It’s only fitting, then, that we gather some of our finest under the Kalahari banner in celebration. The anniversary release is upon us. Six whole years since Jacy helped inaugurate the label with a spin on Midwestern house, OYSTER40 signals a landmark occasion. 18 tracks, quadruple vinyl boxset action, and in true Oyster Cult tradition, it comes bearing pearls.Dancefloor squarely in focus, the Cult assembles on a compilation spanning alumni and new inductees alike. It’s an assemblage of the fractal, explorative and ritual-ready; at once a focused distillation of the Kalahari sound and celebration of its many acolytes. Big on atmosphere, heavy on groove, we delve deeply into the musical DNA shared by all who grace the label.Tough, direct cuts (Sansibar, Roza Terenzi, Big Zen, Maara & Priori) to the pristine and widescreen (S.O.N.S., Volodymyr Gnatenko, Adam Pits), this is all quintessentially Kalahari. Elsewhere though, the likes of D. Tiffany and SW. journey further into realms of abstraction: the former opting for hi-tech, dreamstate IDM, while the SUED co-founder dissolves a house template into dubby introspection.Calling upon contemporary talents for the most part, there are also exceptions. Raymond Castoldi - the one-time house producer best known as Madison Square Garden’s music director - returns with an unreleased nugget from ’91, while an ‘Aliens’-sampling track from Detroit-indebted techno outfit Syzygy gets the reissue treatment.
Marco Donato/Italoboyz is back to black (vinyl) with his debut on Luca Piermattei and Gäbrø’s label Polarity Records. The Ep continues and fully represents the label concept, far from trends and the sound of the moment. A release that encapsulates many moments of a club adventure, from straight dance- floor actions to more ethereal/trippy moments among the 4 tracks. Luca Piermattei adds 2 remixes, an uncompromising floor killer and a modern twisting post-house swirl, that make this ep one of those records that won’t leave the bag for very long time.
LA based producer Eric Spire released some very forward thinking music on his Silver Pearl label back in the late 90’s. This type of heavy, psychedelic house music was the bridge to a new era of sound and grabbed a lot of attention from the likes of Craig Richards & Lee Burridge’s Tyrant nights at Fabric and DJ Garth to name a few. Now, 2 decades later, Sushitech and label head Yossi Amoyal compiled a unique series that includes some of the most inspiring and hard to find tracks out of the Silver Pearl back catalogue. This is an exclusive insight to one of the most inspiring underground labels coming from the west coast. Essential!
Our exploration of Ballet Mechanique’s old DAT archives, stack full of unreleased material from the 90’s era, continues with our sixth release and materializes into the third volume of the “1992-1999 Collection” series. Like the previous two volumes of the series did, also this EP brings to lights the diverse and varied approach of Jeroen’s productions: an A side featuring more “ravey” and uplifting tunes, and a B side focused on funk fuelled electro and IDM.
Twig 10 comes in 2 episode.First one is signed by Sasha Zlykh, a promising, young talented producer based in Kiev.
