After a short break Adelaide Soundworks returns with an exciting new release from Perth based artist Ewan Jansen. Following up from successful releases on Going Good and Chez Damier’s Inner Balance imprint this past year Ewan is back with the ‘Dispersion EP’ featuring 6 new beats from the present and days gone past.
On the A-‐side the title track ‘Dispersion’ is a beautiful deep house arrangement perfectly complementing a traditional 4/4 beat. ‘Afterburner’ is a rolling off kilter vibe bending tune with a vocal element to ice the cake. This is followed by ‘Redwood’, with a delightful, subtle percussion and groove that picks you up and takes you away to another place.
The B-‐side kicks off with ‘Been There Lone Cat’ which contains a percussion resembling something like the sound of a whip and nice pads to soften the blow. Sit back and chill with ‘Percolate and Smoke’. As the name suggests, this groove bubbles
along nicely, gradually building up to an eventual exhalation. Closing the EP is ‘Shines of Chrome’. A free flowing track with a long dreamy chord intro that produces a brilliant change up into a grooving rhythmic adaption.
