3 Mâts Records sets sail once more, delving deeper into uncharted waters. Waypoint settled and new landscapes waiting to be explored. From pulsating rhythms to ethereal melodies, each composition offers a glimpse into this 80/90' inspiration palette of R.E.S.S, amplified by a powerful tricky and trancy edit by the french wizard P.O.Let the music be your compass.
4 tracks of hypnotic basslines, breakbeat, trippy analog sounds and dreamy blissful house makes this a perfect EP destined for dancefloor rotation. TIP!
Sentaku’s eighth instalment introduces listeners to the mythical Japanese deities who played a pivotal role in the creation of the land in a world of nothingness, Izanagi & Izanami. Through their divine union, usebirthed the islands of Japan and laid the foundation for life to flourish. Their story embodies the creative forces of nature and the duality inherent in all existence.Louison starts with ‘Izanagi & Izanami’, a sonic journey weaving with earth-like sounds and celestial melodies, followed by "I Can Fly" taking a more progressive turn, with pulsating basslines and soaring synths. On the flipside comes ‘Reflections’, delving into darker and spookier realms while maintaining an undeniable energy, perfect for the dancefloor. Finally, he closes with ‘Tension & Passion’ slowing the tempo down to a hypnotic groove, with trance-like sounds immersing listeners in the ethereal atmosphere.
Expansion is the 7th EP on Belgium based Nightflight Records. On several levels it is a deft alignment of the label’s emotional techno aesthetic with Mihail Petrovski’s ability to deliver exquisitely poised music that drives deep into the mind and soul. The EP is a fine addition to his discography presented by the likes of Ferox, Common Dreams, Verdant Recordings & Distant Worlds over the last half decade. Petrovski possesses an incredible appreciation of the history of deep techno and evidently distils that into his own craft, whilst adeptly melding a sound that is undoubtably his own. This 4 tracker, all original compositions, manifests an uncluttered platform to fully appreciate those talents. Elegantly programmed percussion is balanced with sumptuous basslines and pads but leave wide open spaces for heart warming melodies on each of these tracks. Tsuris is arguably the most urgent on the record with a warm pressing kick. Omec switches around a superb elastic bassline. Dream Thief brings the tempo down but its innocent celestial melodies linger in the mind. Closing out with Circadian Rhythms, its broken percussion becomes the focus with a sophisticated nod to the finest of mid 90’s UK deep techno.
The 90’s San Francisco underground electronic scene always commanded a great deal of love and respect here at OCD. It played an important role not only in the development of the global electronic music scene, but also in our personal, never-ending journey of discovery. Back in 1996, between the early releases of one of the SF’s scene most important and pioneering record labels, Sunburn Records, an EP titled “Plum Pudding EP” by an artist called “Trailmix” appeared. It featured 4 tracks spanning between early hours progressive-house and more gentle, mellow breaks with a hint of electronica. For many years it has been one of our most favourite record from that scene and era.27 years later, we’re beyond stoked to have being able to successfully track down that gentleman by the name of Alan Aronoff (Trailmix) who, with no hesitation, allowed us to reissue that special EP on The Secret Sun.
